Accessible and user-friendly websites – Mikkeli Regional Library has been revamped to improve service.
Metatavu carried out a comprehensive website overhaul for the Mikkeli Regional Library and the Kirjastopolku website, meeting modern accessibility requirements and modernizing the site’s technology. Both websites were integrated with the city’s website, improving the discoverability and usability of services. The new, user-friendly, and accessible site built on the WordPress platform was launched quickly, offering an efficient and clear service experience for the library’s customers.

The goal of the project was to overhaul the Mikkeli Regional Library website and the Kirjastopolku website to meet accessibility standards and modern technical requirements. The sites were combined and integrated with the city’s pages, improving the discoverability and usability of the services.
Measures
Metatavu worked closely with the City of Mikkeli to design and implement the website on the WordPress platform. During the project, special attention was given to accessibility and usability, and the entire process was completed on a tight schedule.
Result
The result is a fresh and accessible website that combines the content of the Mikkeli Regional Library and Kirjastopolku with the city’s pages. The new website was successfully launched in April 2024 and now serves the library’s customers in a versatile manner.
